Women’s leadership
Gender inequality is widespread within Bangladesh as evidenced by gender aggregated development indicators and levels of violence against women. Women are under-represented in every sphere and have poorer access to health, education, living wages and assets.
Oxfam works to address three different aspects of inequality by addressing violence against women, the lack of female leadership and control over sexual and reproductive rights. Oxfam will work through partners and with civil society to transform ideas, attitudes and beliefs about the roles of women and men to achieve gender justice.
