This blog – Mind the Gap – is maintained by Ricardo Fuentes-Nieva, Head of Research at Oxfam GB. The blog focuses on debates around social justice – primarily on inequality and climate change. The main tools for these debates are academic research, data analysis, and other sources of strong and compelling evidence. As well as commentary from the Oxfam Great Britain Research Team, the blog will include contributions from guest bloggers, including academics, practitioners, other key thinkers on social justice issues. This blog is a forum for discussion and is not intended as a comprehensive statement of Oxfam’s agreed policies.
The blog’s moderator Ricardo Fuentes-Nieva has been Oxfam’s Head of Research since 2012. Prior to joining Oxfam, he worked with UNDP contributing to several Human Development Reports – as well as the World Bank’s World Development Report 2010 on climate change and development. Before joining UNDP, he worked in the Ministry of Social Development in Mexico and the research department of the Inter-American Development Bank. He has conducted research on food security, climate change, social security and social policy, regional development, poverty, and inequality.
