Calum Scott plays secret Oxjam Session

With less than a week to go until Oxjam Newcastle takes over Ouseburn, Wallsend and Gateshead for one massive month of music, the Oxfam shop on Percy Street hosted some A-list pop royalty for an intimate gig like no other.

Taking time out from his tour with the mighty Emeli Sande, former Britain’s Got talent contestant Calum Scott delighted fans with a secret Oxjam Session and a preview of his latest single “You Are The Reason”, announced only days before. Playing the Metro Radio Arena that night, it’s safe to say that playing in an Oxfam shop was not quite Calum’s run of the mill gig.

Most famous for his debut single “Dancing on My Own” – a stripped back cover of the Robyn classic which, by the way, has sold an astounding 5.5million copies since its release in 2016, Calum is currently working on his debut album. Judging by this performance, its going to be worth the wait. Here are some of the best photos from the day: Thanks to everyone for coming down, especially Callum (a different Calum) and Craig who were also celebrating their anniversary.

Tickets for Oxjam Newcastle are available here, or you can find your nearest event on the Oxjam map.
